HR Payroll Clerk

Job Summary

  • The Payroll Clerk will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Five years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least two years of experience in payroll
    preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include
    employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid
    leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

  • Processes payroll and performs all associated tasks.

  • Generates monthly payroll reports for management.

  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and
    other deductions.

  • Reconciles payroll to the general ledger.

  • Researches payroll errors or final discharge.

  • Verifies federal and state payroll tax deposits.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.

Location and Hours of Operation

  • Location for this position will be 230 Donaldson Suite 400, Fayetteville, NC 28301

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am –5:00pm
